The quality of life of persons suffering from pressure ulcers

Pressure ulcers may affect the person’s physical and psychosocial status.

A lot of people get anxious worrying that their pressure ulcers may get worse and, maybe, lead to cancer. They rely on the assistance of others. Unpleasant smell and bandage changes may affect the social relationships of the persons suffering from pressure ulcers, their welfare and sleep.

Both for the people close to the patient and for the carer, the development of pressure ulcers is often linked with the sense of guilt.
